The Arts have a highly valued place in our society and in our college.
They are important for communicating a diversity of ideas, feelings and
beliefs about humanity, society, our world and the identity of the individual.
The Arts are major sources of intellectual, physical, spiritual and emotional
development, expression, understanding, creativity and enjoyment. Comprehensive
and sequential learning experiences in the Arts during secondary education
provide individuals with the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence
to participate in the Arts throughout their lives and to be more integrated
people. This is equally important for those students who choose to follow
a career path in the Arts and for all people whose intellectual, emotional
and skill development is enhanced by education in the Arts.
