At Galen
Catholic College we believe faith development begins at home and continues
throughout life. Whilst we are a Catholic College and embrace the Catholic
faith, we also welcome families from other religious traditions. Galen
aims to be an evangelising community, motivated by the mission of the
church to educate the whole person. Conscious of the different faith stances
of students, we aim to lead students to integrate their faith, life and
culture.
There are
opportunities for prayer and reflection through:
The classroom
provides students with the opportunity to explore faith and religion in

Our courses
of study are continuously under review to better reflect the needs of
our students and to incorporate advances in theology. Our teachers are
encouraged to participate in professional development and courses of study
and meet regularly for planning and reviewing of courses.
School
chaplain
Fr. Tony Hill, our school chaplain, is a key person in faith development.
He is available for celebration of sacraments to individual classes. The
school chapel provides the opportunity
for prayer and reflection.
Faith development
is a journey that each individual makes at their own pace as they respond
to God's inviting presence in their lives.

Year 8 -
Community camp at Noonameena
Year 9 -

___Marist
brothers ___
Saint
Marcellin founded the Institute of the Marist Brothers, which today
numbers more than 4,000 men. Living as religious brothers in community,
they focus on Mary’s life for inspiration and ways to follow Christ.
The Commission for Religious Life promotes initiatives that strengthen
this commitment, as seen in the plan that we have set out here.
Marcellin
didn’t write exalted theories but put his heart and soul into
his work, especially among the young – welcoming them, being down-to
earth with them, accompanying them and working with them. He brought
out the best in people because he believed in them and saw their potential.
